Same-day Dental Implants: A Fully Restored Smile in a Single Appointment

If you are suffering with a compromised smile, we know that relief and restored functionality cannot come soon enough. Fortunately, we offer same-day dental implants, which can be placed and restored in a single appointment. These titanium posts are designed to replace lost tooth roots, providing the ultimate anchor for crowns, bridges, or dentures. For the right candidates, a process that traditionally took many months can now be completed in a day. During a one-on-one consultation, one of our oral surgeons can determine whether same-day dental implants are right for you. Our Montgomery, AL, office is equipped with the latest surgical equipment for your safety and comfort. Contact our office today to schedule an evaluation and determine whether this or another type of dental implants is right for you.

Candidates for Immediate-load Dental Implants

Dental implants candidates are missing one or more teeth and have enough jaw bone tissue to support dental implants. In the absence of tooth roots, the jaw will begin to atrophy as the body begins distributing bone cells elsewhere. If you have waited a long period to address missing teeth, you may require a bone graft before you can receive implants. Our oral surgeons will use digital X-rays to examine your jaw bone and determine whether immediate-load implants are right for you.

Immediate-load Dental Implants: Placement and Restoration

Once it is determined that you are a candidate for same-day implants, your dentist will take impressions of your gums and remaining teeth, which will be used to plan your treatment. We will digitally design your dental crown, bridge, or denture to match any remaining teeth in size, shape, and color. If you are missing all of your teeth, your dentures will be carefully designed to achieve balance between your jaws and achieve harmony within the structure of your face. Your dentist will send this information to a laboratory where your restoration will be crafted from high-quality porcelain, zirconia, or other materials.

Once your restorations have been crafted, your dental implants surgery can begin. Our oral surgeons will create incisions in your gum line and create small pilot holes where each of your dental implants will be placed. The threaded implants are inserted into your jaw bone and immediately fitted with abutments, which serve as the connection points with your restorations. Next, your surgeon can place your restorations. Once the surgeon verifies that your restorations fit comfortably, you can return home to rest and heal.

In the weeks and months following your same-day implant and restoration treatment, you will need to carefully clean and care for your smile according to instructions from our oral surgeons. You will return to our office periodically to ensure that your jaw is fusing properly with your implants. Your smile will look natural, and allow you to eat and speak with confidence even while this healing process occurs.
